Please don't "hope" like I did that this thing just looks cheap and will wind up working out for you like I did.



I have a hard to reach screw in the base of a swivel chair. Thought this would help me tighten it. Well, first, that flexible snake can only flex so much. It ain't magic - cannot go everywhere. I did manage to get the philips bit on the screw while it was in the snake, but I could not get any torque trying to tighten it. I was much better off putting the philips bit in a pair of vise grip pliers and using that to tighten.



Please, don't do like I did. Don't hope and pray this thing will work. Listen to reason and save your money.



P.S. The only other bit that I've used is the 1/16" hex. Well, it's too small. I have another set with a 1/16" hex and it fit the screw that I needed to back out - the one from this set didn't.

Tool feels solid in my hand. I was able to attach hex bits from a inexpensive big box store-sold kit.



This is an excellent alternative to cordless drills/power screwdrivers. It offers more control, is more compact and quieter. And of course, no batteries required.



For most tasks, it's an excellent back up for the light duty power drill/screwdriver.

Great Tool! I Love mine.



It works Great with 1/4" hex bits of all kinds. I was even able to use hex shank drill bits. The old Yankee dosn't even come close to the uses of this tool. I have even used a wire end brush to clean rusted and greasy engine parts.

For those little jobs when you don't need that big, heavy power drill -- putting up a small shelf, hanging pictures, installing cup hooks, etc.,this works terrific -- quick and easy -- and especially lightweight. Takes all 1/4" hex bits, so I already had a lot of bits and such that will fit this.



I bought two of them, one for me and one for my daughter. She is also very satisfied with it.



I would definitely recommend this.

I absolutely love mashed potatoes for dinner and apple pie for dessert, but I hate the peeling and preparation. I never feel comfortable with a conventional potato peeler, which leaves me using a paring knife and wasting a lot of time as well as a lot of the actual potato (or a lot of the apple, in the case of pies). Consequently, I had given up on proper mashed potatoes and was fixing mashed potatoes from store flakes, which is never as good. I was really skeptical about this peeler and figured it was probably too good to be true, but I went ahead and ordered it anyway on a 4-for-3 promotion. Wow! I wish I'd ordered this YEARS ago. I know this is going to be a long review, but I really want to break down ever detail of this wonderful peeler.

The peeler arrives in a box and takes about five minutes to set up - the instructions just need you to screw on the handle and the holding prong in place. Voila! The suction cup base works well on my marble countertop, when I remember to brush the surface of crumbs or other baking bits, but honestly the unit is sturdy enough that the unit doesn't move around even when I forget to clamp it in place with the clamping lever. The attachment that cores and slices the apple comes off easily (just a simple screw), which delighted me since I didn't need my potatoes cored and sliced. The spring-based peeler is flexible and adjusts easily to the size of the fruit/vegetable inserted. There is even a latch to allow the "arm" to move quickly and freely, for when you are done peeling and you don't want to "crank" backwards to return the arm to the starting position - just press the release lever and pull the arm out! Truly, this is the easiest kitchen appliance to operate, ever.

Now, for the specifics. Apples work wonderfully in this peeler. So far, we've peeled Pink Lady apples for snacking, and we've peeled, cored, and sliced (all within mere seconds!) Granny Smith apples for apple pies. The peeler economy is wonderful - an apple pie that used to require six apples now only needs four because so much apple is saved by this peeler. The slices are perfect for apple pie, and I plan to buy a dehydrator soon to dry the slices. I've posted a picture of one of our peeled Pink Lady apples.

I saw a lot of people online saying that potatoes don't work with this peeler, but I think they must have an older model of this Back-to-Basics peeler because my peeler works perfectly with potatoes, though I did notice that round potatoes (like Yukon Gold) peeled more easily than oblong or heavily pitted potatoes (like Russet). In the case of the heavy oblongs potatoes, the potato just needed a hand to brace against it and then everything was fine. I've posted a picture of our round Yukon Gold potatoes after being peeled - once again, I am astonished at how much of the vegetable is preserved by the peeler. I never considered that I'd save money with this peeler, but I am - a family that used to need five potatoes per evening now only needs three!

Cleanup is easy - I simply pick the unit up, rinse the blades under hot running water, and then pat dry with a towel. I have had no problems whatsoever with rusting. More germ conscious people can take the extra step of unscrewing the blades and washing by hands - the peeler is easy to disassemble. I could not be happier with my peeler and I would buy it again in a heartbeat!

Great Basic Navigation Device

I got my TomTom ONE 125 a few weeks ago and I really like the simple interface and quick route calculations. It has a very intuitive user interface and it's easy to program your "favorite" locations. You can enter a destination, buy a "point of interest" such as gas stations, restaurants, parks, tourist attractions, etc. Or you can enter in an exact address, or longitude/latitude coordinates. If you only know the cross streets, that's an option too. Want to browse the map near you, in a different city? No problem, just tap where you want to go on the "Browse Map" option. It also gives you the estimated arrival time and how many miles left you have to go. I strongly recommend getting familiar with your Navigation device before driving anywhere. It is not safe to fiddle with it while you are actively driving.

My only criticism of the device is that mine takes 15-30 seconds to turn on, while holding the on button down. And sometimes it can take several minutes to pick up a good satellite signal, but usually it takes about a minute.

In the box, you'll get a handy computer interface (CD with the driver and software) for your TomTom, a USB cable that also charges the unit, and a car charger. The map included with my TomTom ONE 125 has a map of the entire USA. You can also get free map and device updates via the internet, as well as share your own map corrections. All-in-all I would recommend this GPS device for anyone who hates getting lost and is looking for a basic device to get them from point A to point B. Happy trails!
